As Republicans, the values we share are simple. They are three rights which are Heavenly ordained, so eloquently expressed by our Founders...
Life
This is the most important. Our life is divinely imparted to us by God's sacred breath. We cherish and protect all life. Those representing us must always ensure that the work that they do on our behalf promotes this message.
Liberty
God blessed us with free will and free thought so that we may each find our own paths to His Kingdom, and in so doing, we become worthy of it. I believe this is where we struggle the most to find balance, because none of us likes to see someone suffer or do harm as a result of poor choices. But our Constitution and our scriptures give us the guidance we need to thread the needle of freedom and security. It's important to choose leaders who understand this principle.
Property
All of us have an inherent desire to cultivate relationships and to support each other. We see it on the ball field and in the boardroom. The fruits of our labor can be more bountiful when we enjoy free enterprise and exchange. But in order to have a system in which we continually strive to improve and to create more and better, it is critical that we reward success and avoid policies which diminish it.
And as the product of our labor flourishes, we should seek out opportunities to give back. There are times in all of our lives when we have been the recipient of goodwill, and its willing exchange, from one individual to another, is as important as any other free enterprise exchange.
Defending Our Rights
Our second amendment clearly states that we have a right to protect the above from anything or anyone who might threaten it by arming ourselves.
