"VOTE FOR WHOEVER WILL STEAL THE LEAST OF YOUR MONEY."

Where I Come From

My father gave me this sound advice when I asked him how he decided who to vote for. Throughout my childhood, I attended chili suppers for local candidates, helped put up campaign signs in front of my parents' small business, stayed up late to watch the returns come in on Election Night, and discussed the issues of the day with my family.

I grew up on 40 acres in Willis, Texas, north of Conroe. My parents owned a small swimming pool business for nearly 50 years. When my family wasn't talking about pools, we were talking about politics. And when we needed a break from that, we discussed science, religion, history, classic rock, and literature. My dad was a science buff and a bigtime Ayn Rand fan. My mom taught History and English. I graduated from the Conroe ISD Academy of Science and Technology and moved to Austin to go to UT, where I studied French.

College and Career

My Career started at Apple, working in a variety of capacities, including business analysis and project management. After Apple, I worked at the corporate HQ for Whole Foods Market as an IT Project Manager. The CEO and founder, John Mackey, is a major Libertarian. I tried to convince him to cross over to the GOP, but he is too much of a purist.

While at Whole Foods, I entered my own partnership much bigger than the Whole Foods-Amazon merger: I married my husband, Anthony, who is the deepest, smartest thinker and kindest human I know. He has his own software consulting company, and people pay him to have a piece of those smarts.  As I was welcomed into my husband's family, I learned of their rich past in Mainland China. Anthony is descended from the Chen Family, one of the 4 great clans of China. They were instrumental in bringing about The Republic of China and played an active role in its organization after the last Imperial regime fell. Their history is yet another example how important it is to take part in our government and in politics.

Where I Ended Up

After Whole Foods, I transitioned to the most important role of my life as the mom of two boys who will change the world. Charles is 9 and will one day build amazing rocket ships. Orion is 7, and he is destined to fly them. One day they will break my heart when a spark ignites a flame that will launch them beyond my view. It's in our blood. We're pioneers. But for now, I walk around with a fire extinguisher.

Soon after marrying my husband, we both attended our local precinct convention following the 2008 primary, and, as the only attendees, we were instant delegates! We've been "showing up" ever since! I've attended 5 state conventions now -- two of them while very pregnant. We have both been enriched by the folks we have gotten to know over the years in the Travis County GOP and beyond and have been so grateful for our experiences working together for a shared cause.

What Is Next

I’ve now had the incredible honor of serving as SD24’s SREC Committeewoman for two years, and it has been incredible! It has truly been a highlight of a lifetime to represent all of the wonderful folks throughout our 17 counties, and I would be delighted and grateful to earn your vote for a second term.

Over a decade of active service to the party, a lifetime of engagement.
